Our school follows a diversity of educational programmes such as environmental education, health education, circulation awareness, while simultaneously it participates in multiple cultural and theatrical festivals, as well as in school cinema festivals. The kids at our school come from a diverse background. We teach them to respect each other no matter the nationality or religion of the individual. Even though we are aware of conflicts in our society we are successful in negotiating durable peace – at least on school grounds. Also, we want our kids to learn how to take on responsibility for their studies and their actions in a broader sense. That’s why are looking forward to participating in a project that puts the students at the centre of the action and the teachers take on a role of coach or supervisor. The teachers will include the responsible teachers of the classes, the teachers of visual arts, theater education, computers, physical education and English. The teachers will have an active role in providing the coordination, planning the activities, designing, organizing the results and in disseminating activities. Thanks to the exchange of good practices, teachers will help their students more with the new methods and strategies. Beside getting experience in running an international Project, they will also gain a lot of new skills such asdeveloping professional competences, international cooperation, learning new methods and techniques Families; will be our greatest supporters for the Project and they will be given seminars to be able to carry out what was learnt at homes. Environmental education provides important opportunities for students to become engaged in real world issues that transcend classroom walls. They can see the relevance of their classroom studies to the complex environmental issues confronting our planet and they can acquire the skills they’ll need to be creative problem solvers and powerful advocates. The project will encourage students to improve their schools, homes and neighborhoods on the basis of what they learn in the classroom. The project will teach teachers how easy it is to bring environmental education to their day-to-day lessons using practical and multidisciplinary materials. All participants will have increased civic engagement and participation due to their initiatives in the community.
